NSJWC Selects Camp Hometown Heroes as Beneficiary

Posted in NEWS by North Shore Junior Women's Club on April 29, 2013

The North Shore Junior Women’s Club “NSJWC” proudly announces its selection of Camp Hometown Heroes as the beneficiary of their bi-annual fundraiser scheduled for Spring 2014.

Camp Hometown Heroes provides a week-long summer camp experience for children between the ages of 7 and 15 who have lost a loved one that served in the U.S. Military at no cost. Camp Hometown Heroes takes place one week each summer at the YMCA Camp Matawa in Campbellsport, Wisconsin. In addition to the summer camp experience the program is staffed with trained grief counselors from Kyle’s Korner that can promote healing for the participating kids in the supportive, peer camp environment.

NSJWC’s partnership with Camp Hometown Heroes will begin with treat bags for the campers and hosting a s’mores night during the inaugural 2013 camp week.

NSJWC is excited to partner with Camp Hometown Heroes and for the opportunity to raise funds that will assist them in expanding their mission to help children heal from their loss.
